Spring Gardens Apartments
Aho Architects was chosen by the Jefferson County Housing Authority Development Corporation to completely transform the homes in this wonderful senior community. We oversaw the design, bid, and construction administration for the modernization of the apartment units, laundry rooms, and mail room.
Out of the 244 units in the community, 195 were completely gutted and their interiors rebuilt, while the other 49, along with the laundry and mail rooms, received exterior upgrades to blend in with the fully-renovated units. As an added investment in the development’s future, the water supply system for the first three phases of the community was also replaced.
Through very close coordination with JCHA staff and the residents, Aho Architects developed a sequential renovations plan to ensure minimal disruption of residents who only had to move a single time, as well as efficient workflow for the Contractor.
All of these renovations’ ending results are truly amazing. We couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out!
Although Spring Gardens is our largest project for them to-date, we are honored to have served JCHA more than 10 projects ranging from complete renovations to various capital improvements typical of the needs of public housing authorities.
